Poetry

Find out how to use poetry to express yourself in powerful, compelling ways.

You'll work with Jacob Sam-La Rose and a group of other young poets in partnership with the British Museum and the YMCA. You'll learn the tools and techniques for putting words to work, drawing upon your own personal perspectives and the rich collection of world art, culture and history available at the British Museum. By the end of the course, you'll have a selection of new, original poems, techniques for engaging performances, experience of writing and performing group poems, and the skills to create compelling poetry and spoken word in response to any given subject. Jacob Sam-La Rose is an internationally renowned poet, performer and facilitator, responsible for Barbican Young Poets, Shot from the Lip National Youth Slam and Spoken Word Educators.
