Introduction to Theatre Design


Step behind the scenes and discover the world of theatre and performance design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

From set and costume design to lighting and sound, this hands-on course explores how designers bring stories to life. Throughout the week, you'll experiment with creative ideas, explore performance spaces and develop practical design skills using Central's specialist facilities and resources. You'll also be invited for an exclusive visit to one of the most exciting West End shows, Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre. At this invitation only viewing you will watch the live performance followed by production demonstrations and a Q&A opportunity. Led by a professional designer working across theatre, film and television, this course is perfect for anyone curious about the creative world behind the scenes.

No previous experience is needed ? just enthusiasm, imagination and a willingness to explore new ideas.
